I spent last weekend with Tarun and Kavita’s family friends while they got officially engaged. Following the engagement ceremony on Saturday, Tarun’s parents hosted an engagement party on Sunday. What a good time I had! The dancing they are doing is called Bhangra and I believe that’s how K & T met.
Kavita and Tarun became officially engaged last weekend amongst friends and family at Tarun’s family home. I was there to document it. While I didn’t understand the significance of most of Saturday’s religious ceremony, it was very clear that it wasn’t just two people getting engaged, but two families joining to become one. It was truly a lovely ceremony and everyone was so gracious and welcoming. The following day Tarun’s parents hosted an Asian-themed lunch reception to celebrate the engagement, but that’s a topic for another blog post. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next May.
