Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables Wedding | Anika + Boaz

I’ve been dying to shoot a wedding at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables forever. It’s a stunning, historic hotel that’s located in beautiful Coral Gables and one of the most exclusive wedding venues in South Florida. As if that wasn’t enough Anika and Boaz are gorgeous, charming, completely in love and not afraid to show it. I cried my way through the ceremony. It was such a heartfelt and intimate exchange of vows that I think all of the guests were crying too. Anika and Boaz – thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to document this most important day. And also a huge thank you to Gene Pease of Geneoh Photography for coming all the way from Minneapolis to shoot it with me and to Yadi Rose Events for putting together this beautiful wedding day.

Film images were shot on the Hasselblad 500cm and an Eos 3 on Fuji 400h, Kodak Portra 800, Kodak Tri-x 400 and Ilford Delta 3200.

Key West Destination Wedding | Sally + Dave

Sally and Dave got married at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West on a perfect December day. I honestly can’t think of a better place to be in December than the Keys. They live in the DC area and picked it without every visiting. I followed Sally’s Pinterest board for months before the wedding and I knew what she was planning would be perfect for the Keys. And it was. The reception was held on a huge catamaran and we spent the late afternoon sailing with dolphins jumping around the boat. We even got the quintessential Key West sunset followed by a gorgeous full moon. It was a perfect, laid-back, destination wedding.

2011, What a Year

It’s pretty crazy how incredibly awesome 2011 turned out to be. Photography took me to Las Vegas, Asheville, Breckenridge, Memphis, New York, the Outer Banks, Chicago, Washington DC, Upstate NY, and all over Florida. Next year, I am headed to Boston, France, Chicago, and Atlanta (and hopefully a few more!). I love to travel for weddings and engagement sessions.

I also had the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers whose work I have admired but only knew online. I hope to do more of that in 2012. Collaborating with other photographers always gives me so much creative inspiration.

I also bought a medium format film camera, attended the FIND workshop and started shooting film. I later added an EOS 3 35 mm film camera and I recently bought a Zeiss Ikon. I’m excited to shoot more film in 2012. About 25% of the images below were shot on film.

I don’t know how 2012 is going to beat 2011 but I’m ready.

W Hotel Fort Lauderdale | Jenn + Josh’s Wedding

I adore Jenn and Josh. A.D.O.R.E. Like all of my amazing clients, they put an incredible amount of trust in me to document the most important day of their life. I’m so thankful for that. I think you’ll agree that Josh might have the most contagious smile ever. And Jenn is one of those people that makes you better for knowing her. Plus she has amazing style – she designed her own dress! Together they are beautiful in every sense of the word.

I can’t forget to mention my incredible 2nd shooter at this wedding, Fer Juaristi. He is easily one of the best wedding photographers in the world. Working with him has been one of the highlights of my year and I hope we can do it again sometime.
